“Margie...Margie wake up,” Trevor said as he gently shook me awake.
It was 11:20 Sunday night. I slept alot longer than I should’ve...
“Yes, Trevor?,” I responded, yawning.
“I need to talk to you about tomorrow. We’re returning to the NYU campus, you know...”
“We ARE?,” I exclaimed. I couldn’t believe it. “You expect me to return to school as a...a day-walking, blood-thirsty vampire?”
“Why not?,” he answered, “I do every bloody day...”
Trevor found that amusing. He was more energetic after his nap.
He looked delicious sitting on my bed smoking a cigarette while wearing that elegant black and gold striped silk smoking jacket with no shirt on underneath with black silk pajama pants.
“How do you handle it, my love?,” I asked, “How can you co-exist with mere mortals who you smile at one minute and want to eat the next?”
“I’ve had hundreds of years of practice, darling. Now it’s your turn to try it. You can’t help but mix back in with them at some point. They are not going anywhere...Plus I don’t want you here alone all day long. I want you near me, my pet. Always...”
“My old room mate will be asking loads of questions...”
“Well tell her you had one hell of a weekend! You were bitten by your vampire college professor, to whom you lost your virginity and subsequently married. Then you turned and fed voraciously on human flesh all weekend long...,” Trevor said with a laugh.
“Alright, I’ll tell her that and watch as the men in white coats show up and take me away!,” I said laughing as well.
“You’ll have to fight your hunger tomorrow. Once you return home, there will be plenty for you to eat in the cellar. Keep that in mind.”
“What about our marriage?”
“What about it? That’s easily explained. You and I fell madly in love and ran away and got married. Period. The rest is no one’s business...”
“I’ll be the envy of all the girls on the NYU campus, you know...,” I said as I admired my gigantic diamond wedding ring.
“I know...,” said Trevor as he leaned in and we kissed...
